Another Homerun for Homebase!

That’s a wrap on Homebase 2023 – and there are over 175,000 reasons to celebrate! Year after year, it is truly incredible to see the community come together in support of mental health care. All proceeds from the game are dedicated to supporting the KGH Foundation’s ‘Closer to Home than you think’ campaign, specifically, its commitment to providing immediate and systemic support for local mental health care services and programs.

Players Choice was thrilled to a be a title sponsor for the Homebase Tournament Weekend in support of our local KGH  Foundation.Team Captains , Josh Gorges (retired) and Blake Comeau (Dallas Stars) stacked their teams with some heavy hitters from the NHL community. Friday night’s All-Star Match was a blast to watch with a sold out crowd cheering them on. Our team ran the pre-game Player’s Choice autograph session with 22 NHL players, including Montréal Canadiens Joel Edmundson, Vancouver Canucks Tyler Myers and Luke Schenn, and Edmonton Oilers goalie Mike Smith and retired players including Carey Price, Duncan Keith, and Shea Weber. We also donated numerous items for the Silent Auction.

On Saturday, our Players Choice Ball Team battled hard, winning all three regular games plus the semi finals to step up the plate against Team Comeau. We didn’t make it to the end but our players will never forget the double play against Duncan Keith and Tyler Myers and watching Shea Weber hit an out of the park homerun.

Thank you to everyone involved for another successful event.
