Thank you for your continued support of Players Choice Sports, your Premier Sportscard and Memorabilia Shop in the Okanagan. We have had a lot of changes this past year…. last January we announced that we were moving from our downtown location after 18 years.  Many of you stepped forward in helping to pack, move and then renovate the new space on Banks Rd.

We celebrated our Grand Opening on April 15th in conjunction with National Hockey Card Day! Hundreds of people came to visit the new store and have loved the space, layout and our ability to grow. We sponsored the Home Base Tournament in June and helped to raise over $175,000 for the KGH Foundation. We eagerly watched the NHL Draft & saw the Chicago Blackhawks draft Connor Bedard – a young Canadian hockey player who has brought much excitement and anticipation to the sport of hockey. It was an intense end of the summer as our own family home was in danger from the Kelowna fires and we camped out in the store for a week – but also our heart broke for so many who did end up losing their homes. We were able to host our neighbours at the store for an amazing dinner & evening to connect and miraculous were able to get home the next day.

The Fall was full of excitement with the NFL & NHL season beginning, and on the MLB front, the Toronto Blue Jays, once again, just couldn’t make it past the first round.  We finally finished the renovations of the back offices which has helped to grow our eBay singles to over 30,000 items and on some days, allow Jason to get much needed paperwork done. In November, some of our team headed to Toronto for the Sport Card Expo and then we were able to attend the Inaugural Las Vegas F1 Races in celebration of Mattias graduating this year. The Christmas season was a busy one – but worth it, knowing we were a part of bringing many smiles to people’s faces Christmas morning when they opened their gift! We sold out of our Advent Calendars and were able to bring back the much-loved Hockey PCS.Mystery Boxes – then Basketball, Baseball and next week Football!

With each challenge we faced in 2023, we were able to pivot and our community and family helped to keep the store moving ahead. We can’t wait to see what’s next!

2024 has arrived!

We  are just catching our breath after a great week at the Upper Deck Conference in LA, and then coming back to flooding in the store from the cold snap you all felt. Thank you for your patience while we put the store back together this past week – we are so thankful it wasn’t worse.  Now we are ready to go! 2024 is the year we have all been waiting for… almost every day someone comes in asking for “Connor Bedard’ cards – some are already making a HUGE scene on the sports card market, and his much anticipated Young Guns will be out in Series Two, with his Young Guns Canvas confirmed for Extended Series in August. 2023/24 Artifacts is on the shelf and  the first run for us sold out in 2 days – you can find Bedard redemptions as well as hard-signed Team Canada autos. 2023/24 O-Pee-Chee arrives in a few weeks and will also showcase  some of the first Bedard cards in his Chicago Blackhawks uniform.

Don’t forget the rest of the 2023/24 Rookie Players that are making a splash – Brock Faber, Luke Hughes, Pavel Mintyukov, Logan Cooley, Adam Fantilli, Marco Rossi, and Leo Carlsson to name a few.

Upper Deck has announced that Hockey Card Day in Canada is on April 13 and we plan to put on a great event – FREE hockey cards, Annual Scavenger Hunt, Giveaways and you never know what Jason has up his sleeve to surprise us with!
